GANA Educational
Foundation Scholarship Program
The GANA Educational Foundation BEC Division Scholarship
is made possible by donations from the members of the
Glass Association of North America's Building Envelope
Contractors (BEC) Division. The Foundation was
officially established by action of the GANA Board of
Directors in May 2006.
Undergraduate Scholarship
Eligibility
- Any undergraduate freshman (minimum second semester), sophomore, junior or first-year senior in the fields of Architecture, Construction Management, or Engineering.
- The scholarship will be awarded to a student attending an accredited 2 or 4-year university. Vocational students are not eligible.
- Student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, based upon a 4.00 scale.
- Previous recipients of this scholarship are eligible to apply in any succeeding competition for this award provided that other requirements of eligibility are satisfied.
Application
- Applications are to be submitted to the GANA Educational Foundation office for receipt by a date established by the Foundation that is no later than May 1st of the year of award.
- Applications must include: (a) completed application form and (b) an essay of why the applicant is deserving of the scholarship. The Essay must be one-page, typed, and single spaced, stating why the student is deserving of the scholarship, relate how the student's education/experience could or will benefit the glass and fenestration industry and how the glass and fenestration industry could benefit the student.
Selection
- One or more applicants may be selected each year to receive an award.
- Selection recommendations will be made by a review committee designated by the GANA Educational Foundation and will be assisted by the BEC Division Executive Committee. The BEC review committee will be comprised of five judges: two contract glazing firm GANA members, two supplier GANA members and the GANA Technical Director.
- Selection is based on the applicant's justification of the award, academic performance and standing, potential for development, leadership capability and potential benefit to the glass and fenestration industry.
Award(s)
- The sum of each scholarship to be awarded will be determined by the review committee based upon available funds. The minimum number is five $1,000 scholarships per year.
- Recipient(s) will be notified of their selection in Summer 2013 by the GANA Educational Foundation.
- The award(s) will be deposited into the recipient's account with the financial aid office of the educational institute designated in his/her application. Scholarship funds must be used for tuition and/or book expenses.

Graduate Scholarship

- Any individual either accepted or currently attending a graduate-level program in the fields of Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or Business.
- The scholarship will be awarded to a student attending an accredited university.
